Welcome to Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department

The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 100,000 people living in an area of 86 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose membership consist of volunteer members and supplement career staffing that is provided by the county.

The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1925, to provide fire protection to the town of Upper Marlboro and the surrounding communities. Upper Marlboro is the county seat for Prince George's County. The town is home to the County Administration Building and County Courthouse as well as many other County Government offices.

 

1 Pinned on Crain Hwy

Wednesday, January 25, 2012  Around 0230am the rescue local was dispatched for Crain Hwy / Village Dr for a car into a pole.  Rescue Squad 20 arrived on the scene and advised PSC they had 1 pinned.  The crew quickly went to work stablizing the car and going to work to free the patient.  The crew removed the entire driver side and worked to free the patients legs tangled in the dash.  The patient was extricated and turned over into awaiting EMS care.

     



 

First Due Chimney with Extension

Friday, January 20, 2012  Shortly after 1900hrs the box was dropped in the 4900blk of Col. Ashton Pl. for the house fire.  Engine Co. 20, Chief 20, Chief 20A arrived on the scene to find a 3 story end of the row townhouse with fire showing on side D from the 3rd floor.  Chief 20 setup command, Chief 20A took interior and the Engine Co advanced a line to the 3rd floor.  Once on the 3rd floor the Engine Co found a chimney fire with extension in the walls and ceiling. Engine Co 20, Truck 37 and Tower 33 operated for a couple hours checking for extension and opening up stubborn hot spots.

While crews were operating Chief 20A found himself a new friend in the familys cat and returned it to the owners.

     



 

1st Arriving in AA County House Fire

Monday, January 2, 2012   Around 1930hrs Engine Co. 20 and 45 were alerted to Southerd MD Blvd for the house fire. Engine Co 20 along with Chief 20 / Chief 20A arrived on the scene to find a 1 story with a basement fully involved and went to exterior ops.  Engine Co. 45 arrived and assisted with water supply as the house was 1500ft off the main rd.  Units operated with units from AA Co and Calvert to bring the fire under control.  The last unit cleared around 2230hrs. 

     



 

Dump Truck Fire on RT 4

Saturday, December 31, 2011  At 0704 engine 202 was dispatched for a dump truck on fire on Rt 4 at Rictchie Marlboro Rd. Engine 202 arrived on the scene to find a dump truck with fire showing from the cab and engine compartment. Crews pulled the trash line and extinquished the fire and returned to service.

   


 

Working Fire in Anne Arundel

Tuesday, December 27, 2011  At 0347 Truck 20 was dispatched to 946 Main St in Deale for a house fire. Units from Deale arrived on the scene with fire showing from the rear with the owner out front.Chief 20A and the crew from the truck searched the first floor and openned up the ceiling in the garage were fire was found in the attic.The crew attained a line and knock the fire in the attic and checked for hot spots.Crews remained on the scene until 0700 overhauling and assisting with lights.

   


 

Working Apartment Fire

Saturday, December 24, 2011 1524 At 1524 units from 20 and 45 were dispatched for an apartment fire at 8823 Heathermore Blvd. Engine 451 arrived on the scene with smoke showing from a 3 story apartment biulding.Engine 451s crew advanced a line to the second floor were they found a room off in an apartment. Truck 20 arrived searched the apartment setup ladders and overhauled the fire apartment.

   


 

Working Fire in Marlboro Meadows

Friday, December 23, 2011 2350 At 2350 Units from 20 and 45 were dispatched for an outlet sparking while enroute the call was upgraded to a box. Engine 202 arrived on the scene with fire showing from the rear of a two story single family.Whie making an aggressive attack on the fire command sounded the evacuation tone after recieving a repoet of a collapse.Chief 33 advised command that fire was through the roof but there ws no collapse. Engine 202s crew and Tower 33 reentered and were able to knock the fire and take care of any hots spots.

     



 

DUMP TRUCK VS PICK UP TRUCK 1 TRAPPED

Tuesday, November 1, 2011  Rescue Squad 20 was alerted for possibly 1 trapped at Crain Hwy and Croom Station Rd.  Units arrived to find a dump truck vs. a pickup truck with 1 trapped.  Rescue Squad 820 extricated 1 patient.  Chief 20 (Wells) had the command.

     



 

DOUBLE FATAL WOODYARD RD

Tuesday, November 1, 2011  Units were alerted for vehicle collision with possible people trapped.  Units arrived on scene with 2 vehicles head on with 2 patients trapped.  2 patients were pronounced on the scene.  Rescue Squad 20 extricated both patients.

     



 

AUTO ON PENNSYLVANIA AVE

Thursday, October 13, 2011  At 1820hrs Engine 820 was alerted along with Engine 823(Forestville) for the auto fire in the area of Pennsylvania Ave and Ritchie Marlboro Rd.  Engine 820 arrived to find a vehicle with fire throughout the engine compartment.  Engine 820's crew stretched a 100' bumper line and extinguished the fire.
